It's just been one of THOSE weeks

Between my schedule being adjusted up , back and sideways the work load has also been EXTREME this week. I'm truly hoping that more people are hired for the Replenishment team before the Christmas push takes off. I can work most of the younger people under any table with speed and efficiency but I do have to admit something else here... I'm not as young as I used to be and sheer exhaustion and my aging body takes over. Naps are a daily after lunch event and I feel like I'm not getting enough done around our home. So what ends up happening is on weekends I try to "catch up" on EVERYTHING around here and never feel completely rested and then another week starts. Oh well at least I have work and a roof over my head; not everyone does. I'll recover from this week but tonight I am feeling it.

Scott has gone to bed all ready; he injured his back repairing a tire on his car and has been in extreme pain for several days. So I'm out here blogging trying not to make a bunch of noise so that he can rest. Another sign that we are aging.

Seeing our son into adulthood has been difficult this week. But all parents go through this at some level or another and we all worry about our children no matter their age. All I can do is hope he makes better decisions and manages his life successfully. I'm ever so proud of him and hope that he knows that I will always love him no matter what.

Life lessons are hard and not always easy to live through but we have to press on and work with what we are given. It's not always a stroll through a glorious garden. The decisions we make are based on the information that we have at the moment - none of us have a crystal ball to know any part of our future and plans have to change or at the very least be modified daily.

HANG IN THERE FOLKS...... I AM!

  1. So True Becky, So True!! Life is hard that's for sure and you are doing an amazing job at 'hanging' in there. My Dad use to have an old quote..."whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger" and as weird as that is, I think it's quite true :) Hugs hun, Ruth xxx

  2. Dear Becky ~ We wish to age gracefully, but that's not always the case. Each new day is a gift, full of ups and downs, what ifs, and other assorted happenings. May we grow and learn and be filled with peace.

  4. Learning to adjust what my plans are to what the universe allows is a lesson I feel I am still learning--to roll with it when things don't go as planned. I'm am not sure that I am good at it, but am learning. It is hard, but in the end its what I must do whether I want to or not.

I hope your work week lightens up a bit as you sound like you're working yourself to the bone. Oh, its crazy that you should even mentioned the word Christmas yet! Oh, no! Not yet!

I hope you are having a wonderful day in this wacky, unpredictable, unforeseeable world.
