March Crafts

Quilt blocks - I made 7 of these and need to make one more for myself. The next block I will be doing for the next swap will be a lot easier but still done in red, white and grey. I am hoping to have enough to make an entire quilt from these two swaps.
An Art journal created out of a bread mix box - recycling can be loads of fun.

First page for the journal I created above.

Another mixed media art journal but this one is for quotes I love and will hold 52 quotes - one for each week in 2017.

The first few quotes - " It's okay to be a glow stick; sometimes we need to break before we shine."

"You're always one decision away from a totally different life." and "Creativity is not a competition."

More backgrounds started for future quotes to add to my book.

Criss-cross envelopes.

Handmade embellishments for a swap

The embellishments all packaged up to mail off to the swap partner and hostess.

Mail Art - I love to do these and mail them off with fun stuff inside. I used 2 for the embellishment swap.

Cards I made using some of the "extra" bunnies to include in the swap packages.

I made a stamp out of kids craft foam that features the beginning of my You Tube channel name. I love how it turned out.

I made a "few" flowers to use on future cards.

And I got on a roll and made more bunnies and chicks

I learned a new technique using Utee and made these flowers that I attached to the front of this art journal using brads.

Last of February

I spent some time coloring images with my Prismacolor pencils and then turned them into cards. I'm sorry I can't get the photos turned through blogger. I really love how these all turned out. On some of the images I used Glossy Accents to accentuate areas of the images.

I am enjoying hunting for bargains at the thrift stores. I have even found brand new clothes with the original store tags attached for just$1.

In our bought of early Spring"ness" the tulip tree at our house in Cayce was in glorious bloom. I was so glad I took these pictures because that same weekend we got SNOW! And now everything is brown from the cold.

Our son, Greg right after a trip to see his Barber... he looked so handsome I had to get a couple photos.  He had gotten them to trim his beard neat too.

We are making progress on the kitchen at the house. Scott is doing such a wonderful job turning the old wall oven cabinet into a wall unit that will hold a microwave and bookshelves as well as cabinets with doors on the bottom.

And the last big project to share from February was a mixed media art journal cover and base pages made out of a bread m ix box. I really love home this turned out.

And this is the first page that I created to put inside the new art journal.

Falls Creek Falls Hike

On Feb. 18th Scott and I took on a challenge... a very strenuous hike to see Falls Creek Falls near Cleveland, SC. It was SO worth the hike but we were sore for days afterwards... but still so worth it!

Another year nearly gone...

Hello to all those that have followed this blog for some time. I have not posted in quite awhile so thought I would pop over and write some...
