This N' That in pictures

My Very First quilled card - I learned to do quilling Saturday at my Crafting Groups meeting. It was so much fun!

Flowers and Butterflies I put together from punched out pieces VERY early Saturday morning as I couldn't sleep. Now I need to make some more cards to decorate with these goodies.

Chicken Pie~

My Mother-in-law's recipe for Chicken pie!

Combine:

1 (3 1/2 lb) chicken, cooked, deboned and skinned ( I use baked chicken breast or left over turkey)

1 cup chicken stock (broth)

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can cream of mushroom soup

3 hard boiled eggs - peeled and sliced

Put in greased casserole, 10 1/2" x 8 3/4" x 2 1/2".

MIX:

1 stick oleo (margarine or butter) - melted

1 cup self rising flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup milk

Pour over casserole and bake at 350*F for about 45 minutes - top should be golden.

The topping will be VERY thin but thats the way it is supposed to be; it will crisp up as it bakes.

OH!!! And I add a cup or two of veggies to mine that she doesn't add to hers. I cook the veggies about 5 minutes in boiling salted water , drain and add to the filling mixture before placing it into the casserole dish. I just like having a one dish meal.

Arts and Crafts

Prima Doll Stamped images that I colored in with my Prismacolor pencils.

Cats on book pages - I need to seal these with something... may just try Modge Podge.

Scissor holder adorned with trims I made myself.

OH... and of course Tesla wants in on the post as well.

Tomorrow Scott wants to go out to the Farmers Market in the morning and then my crafting group gets together at the library in the afternoon for a few hours. We are going to learn how to make a quilled card... SO looking forward to that.

A New Week - Starting EXTREMELY early

It's a little after 1:30 in the morning and in an hour I will be leaving for work as I have to be there at 3 AM. We are trying very hard to get last weeks delivery onto the sales floor. With the snow hitting on Wednesday we were lucky to even get it into the building. A few brave souls made it into the store and got it unloaded and there it sat until Friday. I worked 4 hours Saturday morning and we still have a bunch left hence my early start for today as Wednesday we will be getting another truck FULL to get put out.
The sun was right in our eyes.
Yesterday Scott and I attended a Memorial Service for our Aunt Janie at Greenhill Baptist Church. She had long suffered will renal failure and dialysis 3 times a week. She was 76 years old and we are relieved that she is no longer in pain. Jane Salisbury

I got a little crafting done this weekend as well and now have some boxes ready to be sent out to some crafty on-line friends. Scott said he wanted more pictures of me so here are the ones he took of me crafting.

My Dorky Dollar Tree Reading Glasses
And here are the end results...
Pin cushions from glass dishes and stick-pins.
I included one of the little baskets I had made up as well a week or so ago and some crafting fun bits. I hope my 5 recipients enjoy them.

Onto my next project; an item using recycled items and hand made lace and trims. Should be interesting. Well it's time to get ready I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Back to work!

Well after two days off from work we all have to go back to work today. Scott is supposed to show up at his regular time and I can wait until noon to go in so as the sun has time to get up and melt off the residual ice. Greg was just told to take his time but to definitely go in today.

Wednesday night I took these photos before we went to bed...

And then yesterday morning we awoke to find it had all turned super shiny as the ice had frozen solid...
SO GLAD we were able to stay home!

Tesla "Got Mail"

Tesla was very excited and happy about getting mail from Australia and was even saying "thank-you Eduardo" in this photo.

He said "I LOVE FISHIES"

And I received the beautiful fabrics from Maria as the winner of her give-a-way. THEY ARE GORGEOUS!

Fridays Efforts

I was home from work on Friday since i had worked last Sunday so I decided to do some extra heavy cleaning including mopping all the floors and cleaning all fixtures in bathrooms as well as dusting all the furniture in our bedroom. Well I got both bathrooms our bedroom and the hallway done on Friday but then ran out of energy so I will have to finish up today as I want to have any trash in the house out to the trash cans for Tuesday pick-up. Here are a few pictures of the areas I completed on Friday. All clean and sparkly!

Yesterday we took a quiet day with lots of resting up, a nice walk by the river and a visit with Scott's Mom. I took a few pictures on our walk along the river and I will share a few here.
Mossy edges - so beautiful!

Tuesday... feels like Wednesday

I really hate working Sundays as it makes the rest of the week feel so out of whack. Today feels like Wednesday but it is NOT truck day... but sure feels like it should be. Bright note is we are way ahead on resets at the store and I am actually running out of work... bad news will be that hours will most likely be cut later in this week. Ah well... more time for crafting and using things up I all ready have since there won't be any money to go crazy shopping with if my hours are cut.

This past weekend I made 4 cards for Valentines day. I like how they turned out and want to make some more this week .I've been on Pintrist looking for Valentine card layouts and ideas to expand my selection. That site is SO addictive!

I also need to get a Birthday card mailed to my sister, Robin as her birthday is the 9th. Lots of crafting needs to happen this week.
Fun layered technique - I love creating cards like this.

I added some light pink paper to the inside to give me a place to write a note.

SUPER simple card - left plain inside since the card base is light pink. I may stamp a small heart inside these.

Altered Dominos

My projects to complete this weekend were these little Dominoes that I had picked up at a Thrift store a little while ago. I decorated them up with laces, and beads and I think they turned out really pretty. On Monday I will be mailing them to Australia to be entered into a challenge with other Crafters. Part of the prizes are some GORGEOUS hand crocheted laces and other crafting goodness.

"Shabby Chic"

"Vintage"
Next up is to create a project where I will be recycling something and creating all the embellishments myself. I all ready started making some lace and trim bits; trying to decided how to make my own beads... may have to just use bought beads but create a design with them myself. HMMMM.... THINK THINK THINK.

Off to bed now as I have to work in the morning.

Another year nearly gone...

Hello to all those that have followed this blog for some time. I have not posted in quite awhile so thought I would pop over and write some...
