Back to crafting!

Over the weekend I made up some more of my fabric flowers. I use these on cards and other projects. AND I cleaned up before I quit for the day!

I will be sending 6 of these to a friend (Hi Heather) I've made on-line as she and I decided to do a swap for flowers. I will also make up some of my paper flowers  for her.  It will be nice to get something fun in the mail as anymore it's mostly just bills and junk.

I'm getting packages fixed up so that I can mail some things out this week. Lots to do!

Close Enough

Well my room is clean enough to start crafting once again. YEAH! Now if I can just remember to take the time to clean up between projects.

I still have a few small piles of odds and ends and pieces waiting to be made into something else so not it's time to get busy and turn a bunch of the remaining stuff into gifts.

Scott and I did get a lovely walk in today and decided to go across the river into Columbia to walk along the Riverfront park and the canal.

Progress - still not quite "THERE"

I made a little progress on my room today and that is all as Scott was home from work and we decided to make a trip over to the Goodwill on Garners Ferry Road just to look around. I found one item for 75 cents and I will point it out in the following photos.
My "crafting" space ready to be used. I still have a few items to  put away on here but it is so much better than it was when I started on my hobby room.

I'm getting like items into the thrift store jars that I have been purchasing. MORE of the square jars are on my Thrift Store shopping list. I love how I can see what is in each jar! This heart shaped rack was also a Thrift Store purchase. I've used it to hold some of my jars of goodies as well as a place to hang the chunky charms that people have been giving to me as well as the ones I made for myself.

This is the item that I bought today for 75 cents at Goodwill. It's a wicker silver wear basket and I am repurposing it for glue gun storage as well as my bottled glues to keep them upside down so the glue is always in the tips and easier to use.

Another photo of my rubber stamp storage - thrifted from a Goodwill for $5... if my memory is right.

Photo boxes that hold items by type for easier use... lace,  fibers& trims,  bling,  flowers,  handmade flowers,  Butterflies, and Pearl trims. The green basket holds my brads and some metal embellishments.
Well it is getting late and I am tired so I will say G~night!

Helper and a visitor

Well I made a  little more progress on my room today and I  had such a wonderful little helper...
Mr Tesla
The organizer crate in the front right of the photo just would not stay together so when Scott got home from work I asked him how we could fix it. And being Mr Wonderful he said why not just cut a bit off each side panel and see if the slats will stay in place. And TADA it worked....
It works PERFECTLY now and I have it set in place and filled with some paper pads and some of my solid card stock. I'll finish up in there tomorrow and will share some finished photos  then. I may even get in there over this weekend and create a few items.  I have some things to get ready to be mailed as well as I want to mail them next week.

And as a final note to this post I wanted to share a photo of this beautiful little creature that was sitting on the threshold of our side door this morning. Isn't it gorgeous?

A Bit or Re-Arranging and Organization

A couple days ago I started re-doing my hobby room and am going through things with a critical eye and trying to get rid of some of the stuff I will never use. I may put some things on Ebay to make a little money as well. Here is the room during the re-arranging portion...
Tuesday
Since I am now off today and tomorrow I will finish organizing my stuff so that I can get busy on some projects. I need to do better about cleaning up between projects but you know once my creativity starts I hate to stop it to clean. I like to let it roam with reckless abandonment.

Yesterday I worked a 7 hour shift - unloaded the truck and then put my section out on the sales floor. I was so exhausted I went to bed at 6:30 last night and got up at 2 AM this morning. Kinda glad I was asked to take today and tomorrow off but I am a bit concerned about another sorry paycheck. I wish we owed nothing on the house and land so a short paycheck wouldn't hurt us so badly. AH perhaps one day. It really is time to down-size I think as we aren't getting any younger and the workforce is such that they don't really want anyone over 50 in it. If I were young now I would be doing all I could to set myself up for retirement by 50 because after that no one really wants you. And I would never move into a larger home I would stick to the first house I bought and pay it off quickly. We really  have way more space than we ever really use.  I think if we really looked at the space we actually use everyday it would be 500 to 600 square feet...  the rest is just storage. OH how nice an electric bill would be on a small home too. Something to think about to be sure. Yep... I have entered another phase of re-evaluation and re-organization so why shouldn't it cover my entire life goals and plans and not just my hobby room.

Family news..... Both of my brothers are expecting new little ones next year. Jack and Nichole found out yesterday that they are having a girl. Charles and Alina won't know for a few more months.

Crafting Saturday!~

Our Swapping Table of cards and ATC's as well as a few items I took for "Show and Tell" on the front corner of the table.
The next photos are close-ups of the swap items...

Everyone really put their own spin on the card sketch and brought true individuality to the ATC's. I have a lovely collection to use and cherish.
September Cards

September ATC's
Now the part everyone was looking forward to... the Never-Ending card. Well these are photos of mine but I neglected to get photos of the  other's cards. Everyone had so much fun making these. Mine is a Christmas card for a special friend.

One minor mistake at the Teddy's shoulder but other than that I think he turned out pretty cute!

I also made this scarf while we were together... I LOVE it! It's crocheted holding two strands of yarn... one 4-ply and one fancy yarn.

Another year nearly gone...

Hello to all those that have followed this blog for some time. I have not posted in quite awhile so thought I would pop over and write some...
