Mama Bear

Well this Mama Bear is ready to get ferocious! My son is being harassed DAILY at his job and I so want to step in and get them told out there. He has filed complaints but they do NOTHING! It is reverse minority situation out there and he comes home exhausted and depressed. He is 27 but he is still my child and I so want to get involved and the situation resolved! But I fear that would make the situation even worse.  I just don't know what to do to help him.

MONDAY... once more....

Here it is Monday once again and I hope that everyone has a wonderful week ahead.  Mine will start with work and then at 8 AM I will be calling the Dr to see if they can fit me in today as my right leg is giving me all sorts of trouble.. I can't sit crossed legged any more as I get a shooting pain in the groan and now my knee is swelling and painful on the outer side and my foot arch will cramp up like crazy. I don't know what I have done but I am tired of the pain. I have too much to do for my leg to be acting  up like this

Scott cleaned out a few of the raised garden beds and has planted some potatoes. We will be harvesting the garlic 2 beds at a time instead of doing it all at once this year. After each harvest we will be planting new things - tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, yellow squash and a lettuce mix.

I have plans to sew through some of this fabric stash as well. But before I can sew I will need to refine some patterns to fit my odd body. It was so  much easier and faster when I was shaped exactly to the pattern measurements that is for sure. I've actually traced around a favourite pair of sleeping pants to make up a bunch of flannel bottoms - that will use up a lot of the flannel... quickly.

Well time to get this day started... Happy Monday!

A Rose, A Cottage and A Windchime

Thursday, April 24th
Here it is late Saturday and I have a few photos to share. First is a  photo of a gorgeous red rose that was blooming in my Mother-in-laws yard. It really made me happy that I carry the camera EVERYWHERE with me now. You really never know when you will be able to capture something amazing in a photo.

Isn't it AMAZING!!!? It just screamed "TAKE MY PICTURE" when we drove into the driveway.

Then yesterday we made a trip to Greenville to get some things from Scott's Uncles' house and to see what more we can help Adele with to get the houses ready for selling. It made for a VERY long day for us as we both worked yesterday morning and it was dark when we got home. While we were up there we got to go inside the old little house. It's been deemed unworthy of repair and considered a tear down. It's so precious! Here are a few photos...  OK Let's step back in time!

Scott took a bit of a fall coming down the driveway; slipped on the gum tree balls. Scared the daylights out of me and I thought for sure he would have been up half the night with pain but we were so exhausted we slept late.  It was dark when we returned home so the truck is still waiting to be unloaded.

Today my Crafting group met and we created some beaded chimes (really just a fancy decorations as I would not dream of putting these outside)...

Now I need to get off here and get some things done around the house and start unloading the truck.

So.... Tuesday again

Here it is another Tuesday! The weeks seem to be flying by and I am finding myself so exhausted after work that I get very little done around the house. I wish I still had the energy I had in my 20's. And the full strength and flexibility as well.

I have plans for the garden and yard but we've been exhausted or it's been raining here so none of them have taken place. It's like our get up and go got up and went that is  for sure... I hope it returns.

We went for a short walk on Sunday to burn off some of the delicious meal we had at Scott's Mom’s. I grabbed the old camera and caught a few photos.
The river was rising and it is now under water.

A pair of Mallards

Honeysuckle

A pair of Canadian Geese

It looked like chocolate milk.
Well it's time to get this day started... have a good one!

It Only Takes A Moment

I've been thinking a LOT lately about connections; how they start, how they grow, how they continue, and sometimes how they break apart or never set the fruit of friendship.

You know it really only takes a single moment to put yourself in someone else's shoes or to add just a tiny bit of happiness to someone's day.  A positive thought even... a smile... a quick note in the mail.... holding a door for someone - even if their hands are not full.

A wave to a stranger could let them know they are seen and not invisible as they may be feeling they are at that moment.  Your single positive act of friendship could give them hope that there are thousands of more positive interactions in their future.  HOPE truly is what sustains every single one of us.

Why not start on this Easter Sunday... I'm going to create a card and mail it to someone I have not seen in years just to let them know they are still in my heart and always will be. What will you do?

HAPPY EASTER!

Rainy Tuesday

It is nearly time for me to leave for work and it is rainy... I hate driving in the rain! Ah well it is the only way I will get to my job. And we need the rain.

Yesterday I felt lucky to have gotten the kitchen clean after dinner... had  ZERO energy; still exhausted from the weekend. Hopefully today I will get more accomplished here at home.

Another exhausting weekend

We made another trip to Greenville on Saturday to do a bit more clean up at Scott's Uncles' house and we brought some things home with us. Some we will list and sell on Ebay and the money will be divided among the heirs and some are items we are keeping.

We did bring home the stove that Uncle Jesse gave to us long before he had passed away and it is now residing in our bonus room where my fabric stash used to reside. The fabric is now stacked in what was our den.And is right "IN OUR FACES" all the time and I have GOT to sew my way through it and fast. So watch for sewing projects.

While we were away Saturday Tesla about worried himself to death looking for us so yesterday he was plum wore out and I caught these photos of him in the clean clothes basket. SO SWEET!

After we spent most of the day taking care of the items we brought home we were too exhausted to cook so we went to Hardee's for burgers and fries and I had to take these photos of the moon. So BIG and beautiful!
Well it is Monday morning... 4:09 AM to be exact and I need to throw on some work clothes. What I'd really like to do is crawl back in bed for a few more hours. Ah well.... Such is life.

Happy Spring!

I decided to capture some photo's of the flowers in our front yard.

The Azaleas are really showing out and my Dogwood tree is in full of bloom.
The Red Maple is getting it's leaves on and they are a gorgeous red.
And in the side yards we are getting some beauties as well. First is the yellow flower that my neighbour gave me that for the life of me I can't remember it's name and then the Wisteria... a beautiful nightmare.

My work week is nearly over... one more day. For some reason I'm only working 4 days a week this month... I guess Payroll is tight. Ah well... more time to get things done around the house and yard. Lot's to get caught up on around here and a new shed to get built for Scott's Gravely Tractor. More to come on that project. Well time to get dinner started I hope everyone is doing well.

AH Tuesday!

I guess today is my "Hump" day instead of Wednesday as I am only working through Thursday this week. It's that time of year when payroll hours disappear nearly completely for anyone working in retail. Yesterday I was miserable with a horrible headache that did not let up all morning even though I had taken allergy medication as well as a pain reliever. I was so glad that I was only working a 4 hour shift and even happier when I was able to lay down for awhile and thrilled when I heard thunder... when the pressure changed I finally had some relief.

Saturday Scott and I spent the day in the yard trying to get things cleaned up a bit. It was the highest pollen count day so it is no surprise that we both suffered Sunday and Monday. Everything has been coated in yellow pollen. As we travelled around the State on Friday we could watch bursts of pollen explode from the pine trees as the wind came through. Huge clouds of pollen showering down upon us and a yellow haze before us everywhere we travelled. That rain yesterday cleared the air a bit.... thankfully.

We have quite the pile of yard debris out front awaiting pick-up by the City. What is REALLY bad is we still have a lot more to do out in the yard. We are going to spend at least one full day of our weekends out in the yard and gardens getting them back up to beautiful. And we are going to start working on projects around the house as well. I'm looking forward to having everything looking nice once more.

Here it is April 8th and we have yet to do the taxes... YUCK! Just hate doing them but it is something that has to be done and time is running out - perhaps that will be our first task for Friday.

Sorry there are no pictures this time but it is still dark outside this morning and I don't have anything new on the camera. I will take some photos of the azaleas out front when I get home from work as the rain has really brought out their colours.

Have a wonderful day!

Yesterday's Adventure

Since I took over 70 pictures and made several videos I thought it would be easier to string them all together into one video to share. ENJOY!

Catching Up #2

Ok here we go on to another wonderful day.
My Flowering Almond - I LOVE this bush!
We decided to explore some of the new sections of the Timmerman Trail; we were thoroughly amazed at all that we experienced.
Raccoon "Hands"
The new winding path.
Glorious old trees
A flower to research
a sweet little bridge
View from the bridge; you see part of the Congaree Creek
FUNGI!
LOVE the winding path
View from another bridge where we thought would be a GREAT fishing spot.... HOLD THAT THOUGHT AND WAIT....
At this spot I said to Scott this looks like a prime gator pool.... THEN
I spotted this!!!!! He was about 10 to 12 feet long. Isn't he cute?

View of the Congaree Creek along the closed down section of Old State Road.
And to get you all completely caught up I will share my "lunch with friends". We went to Cafe Strudel and had some wonderful sandwiches.

YUM!!!!

Another year nearly gone...

Hello to all those that have followed this blog for some time. I have not posted in quite awhile so thought I would pop over and write some...
