Week 3 - August 2016

This is the Geranium my parents gave to me as a "House warming gift" at the little cottage we are staying in until we can find a new home of our own.

We took a lovely evening walk around the lake at Furman University. The students had not arrived yet so it was just a bunch of midlife and Senior Citizens walking around and enjoying the beauty. We love to walk at Furman; such an amazing campus.

This was the first time I noticed the Rose Garden. There were so many lovely roses and garden elements. And of course my Ham.... Scott struck a pose for me too.

The bell tower is always so striking no matter what time of day.

The Swans had to come check us out. I am not sure where the other black Swan was that night and I hope that it was not lost to it's mate. They are such beautiful creatures.

Our son, Greg turned 30 on the 24th so we had a party for him on the 20th. I dresses the Mannequin up that he had brought home years ago... a dumpster "rescue". She didn't have any arms so I put a long sleeved shirt on her this time. She is wearing one of Greg's old Halloween costumes and some beads.

Greg requested a Coca-Cola cake so I made one for him. It was SOOOO good but oh so sweet. Definitely NOT on mine and Scott's Diabetic Diet to be sure.

Greg loved having his friends over and they all came later in the day and stayed until nearly 10 PM. It was so fun listening to Greg laugh and his friends cutting up as  they played Cards Against Humanity.
Greg is the bearded one. LOL

Week 2 of August

ok! Dishes are done and the bed is made so lets go on to the second week of August!
HERE KITTY KITTY!!!
We get some funny looking kitty cats after dark if i forget and leave food out. i know it is an opossum... i'm just being silly. They don't seem a bit afraid of us as we stand by the door looking at them either.

On August 13th most of my family got together to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday at my sister, Hazel's house. The tall gal on the stiltes is my youngest sister, Ronda.... still a kid at heart at 36.

My Dad

Ronda and her husband, kevin

Madeline - "Maddy" my brother, jack's youngest daughter

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

August 2016

So here it is nearly the last day in August and i am coming back to catch you up on what we have done so far this month.

This first photo I have no idea where i took it as it was the only photo for August 1rst on my card.

Throughout July I participated in a daily Art prompt event and at the beginning of August i created the covers and bound the pages together with book rings. Each day had a different prompt that you would follow to create a page as well as a mini version on your index page. It was so much fun to do that i may look for other daily prompts to follow in September.

I did a flip through of the book on You Tube if you want to see each page...

We have cottage kittens!

They are so much fun to watch. We are trying to get one or two tame enough to adopt.

Nature gives us so many wonderful gifts each day at the cottage.
Butterfly resting at dusk
Life from destruction
ATC's - Artist Trading cards that i created for a swap.
More of the Cottage kittens playing...

And our 'grand- kitty - Piper. everytime we go down to work on the house she is so glad to see us. She has turned into one gorgeous feline.

Well that is the first week of August!

Another year nearly gone...

Hello to all those that have followed this blog for some time. I have not posted in quite awhile so thought I would pop over and write some...
