On My Mind - Pollen Pollen it's EVERYWHERE!

In Amelia's (dog) Water bowl.....

In puddles EVERYWHERE....
What we need is a full day of steady rain to clear all this from the air. I know it won't last long and it will take no time for the air to fill again but one or two days of pollen free air would be so WONDERFUL!

And on a side note... we went to Tractor Supply Company today to get Scott a new straw hat as he left his at a friends over a year ago and we haven't been back up that way to get it back. He needed one for this weekend as we will be attending the Antique Wireless Association Meet and he would get roasted walking around the parking lot looking at old radios. So here he is in his spiffy new straw hat....
The brim is WONDERFULLY wide to protect his head and face from the sun.

This is a weekly feature at Down to Earth

  2. LOVE the wide brim. I have one that almost looks like this one waiting in the cart at amazon...except it has a scarf wrapped 'round it, which doesn't make it very macho. ;)

  3. That's just the kind of hat my husband would wear. I love it. I know what you mean about the pollen. My grey car looks yellow right now!

  4. Hi Becky, just popped over from Down to Earth. Love the hat! We're at the beginning of autumn, not that you would know it with temperatures still like summer, but I'm still never outside without a hat. I'm a bit envious you have enough flowers to create that much pollen. Unfortunately in my rush to all things edlible, I don't have much in the way of flowers, but a pile of recently purchased flower seed should fix that. Thanks for sharing, have a great Friday!

  5. I love the main photo with the sun and the brilliant flowering tree! And wow, glad we don't have that pollen yet, although I am finding that I am allergic to something in the air already this year! Nice hat too!

  6. Thanks for the input Becky. I haven't checked the websites for the bowl instructions yet because I love the idea and wanted to pop on over here and tell you thank you! And your header photo, is that your street? Love it.

  7. That's a great hat!
I wish I could get the Love of My Life to wear a hat - he tells me his mediterranean skin stops him getting burnt - yeah right!
    Happy weekend :)

  9. The street that Amelia and I are walking down runs behind our house; we were out walking her around the neighborhood a couple weeks ago and Scott snapped this shot of us.

  10. That hat is like the one I have for summer. Mine has a couple of fabric flowers on it for decoration. The nice wide brim helps to protect my face from the sun.

  11. Love the hat! I have one with a brim in the front only so I can shade my eyes while I lean back in my swing and nap.

  14. It must be awful for people with allergies and asthma. :( In the Flinders I find that it is worst when the native wattles are in flower, causing constant sneezing and sinus headaches, but I have never seen pollen pool in water quite like this! I hope it rains for you soon.
