Movie Night
Last night Scott and I attended the FREE movie night at the Cayce Riverwalk Pavillion. They were showing Alvin and the Chipmunks. The Police were there in full force but not many people came to the movie; kinda sad really. But I wouldn't have known anything about it if I hadn't seen the watered down flier hanging on the gate the other day. They will be showing another movie next month and again in June if it hasn't gotten too hot. I think that I will print off some fliers from the website to spread the word a bit better. The Police Officers were even handing out trading cards on themselves to the kids. Really neat idea. We watched some of the movie and then Scott wanted to go walk so we walked from there to the Riverland Park entrance and back. The section of the walk that is all boardwalk is currently unlit so it was pretty dark when we came back across. I wish that they could get the lights working again. The water from the flooding did a lot of damage on that section; they just recently reopened it after shoring it back up. It's just so beautiful down there. While on our way back we saw the Blue Heron standing on top of a dead tree and wouldn't you know it we didn't have the camera. UGH!!!! We also saw the fox again as she or he went across the path right in front of us and we saw a bunch of toads and millipedes on the walkway. It was a wonderful evening. Tonight if it doesn't rain we are planning to attend another FREE event; this time it's a free concert at the West Columbia Amphitheater on the Riverwalk. http://www.rhythmontheriversc.com/ This is a link to the schedule for anyone that may be interested.
