Tomorrow my grand adventure begins!~
WOO HOO! Tomorrow I will be heading for NY for my 25th class reunion! I'm going to make the drive over two days. I may or may not stay up there for the Labor Day picnic; I'm not registered at the motel for that long so I will play it all by ear. I may just want to get home by that point. I'm going to see if I can get my baby pictures this time as I'd love to show them to Greg. I'm not sure if they are still around up there or not but I'm going to try.

Only 4 days until I leave for NY!
I can hardly wait to see family and old high school friends again. And I am going to stop and visit some Jo-Ann's along the way just to see how different managers set their stores and what different things that they carry. Should be fun!
Gotta work today and then take Greg out for dinner. Yesterday was his 21rst birthday! YIKES! He is LEGAL now! I can hardly believe that my "baby" is 21 now! Time passes so quickly.
Looks like Scott may be heading for Austin, TX soon to visit a supplier there. I wish I could tag along on that trip. I've always wanted to visit TX. Maybe one day!

Everything A O K!
Dr. Antonnetti says Scott is doing GREAT and has healed well! Yeah! Hopefully this will be the end to his naval hernias! He went back to work on Tuesday and tires easily but is doing fine. Now there is talk of him traveling to L.A. and TX.
Next week I will be driving North to attend my 25th High School Reunion! Because he has been out of work so long for the surgery Scott will not be able to go up with me. I've been trying to reach Heather or Peggy to see if they would like to attend since I have paid for 2 people to attend both the ice breaker and the banquet. So far I haven't had any luck. OH well! I'm going to go and have fun seeing classmates and old friends.

SURVIVED!
I'm back from the NC trip and I survived! My head is killing me this morning and I'm not sure if it's just information over load or if I have a sinus/ inner ear infection now. Perhaps a shower will make me feel a bit better. I have so much to "repair" at my store... I have a LOT of behaviors to change. Dress code being the quickest to remedy... I HOPE!
All in all it was a good trip and having Richard along was good as I don't get as sleepy as when I drive alone. He is quite the interesting person once he lets his guard down a bit to let you in.
I'm glad that I am off tomorrow and Sunday and then next week I will be taking vacation to go up to NY for the weekend for my 25th high school reunion. Tomorrow I may get myself in to see the Dr.

Work and then Cary NC AGAIN!
I have to work 8 to 4 today then drive over and pick Richard up to head to NC for STL training. I am hoping to set up dinner with a few other managers for some defrazzling! I'm so worried that I will not meet expectations and issues with the Audit process are a HUGE concern for me as no one has walked me through one and explained each section in detail. I know my paper work is NOT 100% as I've been learning as I go and from mistakes. I worry a LOT about being let go now that Tim is gone. The joy and fun is not with me like it used to be and that makes me incredibly sad and depressed. I know I need to just "take the bull by the horns" but I need to find a reason to make it worthwhile and that hasn't happened as of late. I'm NEVER home with my husband and I miss him a lot. All our plans and dreams seem to have been cast aside for my job. Oh well I better get this day started whether I like it or not!

CHANGES AFOOT!
LOTS of changes are ahead and I'm not sure I can see myself going with the flow this time. Everything is becoming ALL BUSINESS and no fun. I'm starting to get depressed over it all but will be going to STL training in NC Monday night through Tuesday. I've started polishing up my resume in case I don't make it through the training session. No one over me knows me and how far this store has come so I'm walking a fine line at the moment and am not sure I like the tension thats building from it. Perhaps it is time for a change.
A/C Fixed...
But for how long? The unit is so old that the Tech said we are still trying to pull too much off it and it's not working correctly but IS working. If it doesn't cool any better than to 81* he said to call them back out. UGH!
Yesterday we also had our home A/C serviced and repaired... nearly $400!~ YIKES! Oh well!
Yesterday we discovered a Momma cat has her kittens in some of our azalea bushes... just what we did NOT need.... more cats! We have 3 and thats really too many some days. But kittens sure are cute aren't they?

HEAT and SWELLING!
The A/C is still out in the store and we are all becoming ill from it daily. The last 2 days I've come home swollen and in so much pain I've had to take anti-inflammatory medication just to get some resemblance of sleep. It helps some but I'm still swollen and sore this morning. Today it's supposed to get up to 102* and something will have to be done; I just can't repeat the last two days no matter how loyal I am and I can't put my employees through another day like this with no A/C ... IT'S INHUMAN!

When it rains it POURS!
I have to have about a million and one things pulled together before I head to Cary NC store on Monday evening and another a crisis has developed with my Assistant Manager so she will probably get little done at the store. I would love to go 6 months with no crises popping up and all tasks getting accomplished 100%! I will do what I can. I've canceled my plans with my Mom for Friday so that I can be in the store pulling some final things together. BUMMER! She and I were going to go to Mary Jo's in NC... maybe another time!
Next Friday (the 24th) my son will turn 21... UGH! Such a dangerous time for a young man. Legal and still stupid! It's enough to turn the rest of my hair grey!~
Not sure what happened at the car wash/gas station across from where I work yesterday but the police had it roped off and the CSI van was there. I keep hoping it wasn't a robery gone bad and that everyone that works over there is all right. Perhaps there will be something about it on the news sites.

Waiting for Conference Call to start
I'm sitting here at home waiting for the conference call to start to find out what the future holds for me... FUN! Then I have to go into work and try to get my desk clear and an Audit completed to take with me next week to Cary, NC for training... FUN! The office is still freezing cold and the store is still HOT as H - - - ! A good way to catch a cold! Oh well I will do what is necessary to stay employed!

Wallhanging top complete!

Three side strips to sew....
I'll have the wallhanging top finished as soon as I sew three more strips together and then put it all together. My points don't meet perfect but it's been awhile since I did any sewing let alone quilting so I'm not going to rip it out and do it over.

PROGRESS!
Back to work in the SAUNA!
The a/c is still out in half the building... yuck! And I'll be going into work at 1 - the hottest part of the day. JOY! I stopped in to check on things yesterday and the girls have kept the store looking pretty good so I won't have to fuss much which is wonderful! Tomorrow I had scheduled myself off but will be going into work in the morning to help push freight as it is the start of a new sale and I want everything out and signed well so that we have better sales this month.

Results of steps 6 and 7
Doing a Mystery QUilt
I'm working my way thru a Mystery. Part one was cutting the "white" 5" squares. I took a picture of all the fabrics I'll be sewing today and tomorrow to complete this project. The lady bug fabric is for the backing and the green will be the biding. The 5" print fabrics will be part of the top and since this is a true mystery I have no clue what it will look like when finished. It's giving me something to do while Scott sleeps.
UGH!!!!!

Back to work tomorrow!~
Today is my last day home with Scott. He is feeling so much better; he was even able to sleep in the bed last night. He is healing well and the pain is letting up in his stomach. Now my worry will be that he tries to do too much!

A recliner from Mothers'
Scott's Mom was over and she offered one of her old recliners as Scott was having such a hard time sleeping. He is resting in it right now... I can hear him purring. HA HA! It supports his back better and doesn't stress his belly like the wing backed chair and ottoman were. I think we will need to get out of the house a bit today as he has started to get a bit stir crazy and thats when I fear him over doing. I was thinking about popping over to the store to check on things and he can ride along then if he wants to.
I've got to mow the lawn today as my back is starting to act up from all this sitting around... I got to get physical! I may even plant the potatoes that have sprouted.

Night 1 after surgery
Scott is doing a bit better today. It took a bit to get him settled in last night; he just couldn't lay in the bed so I had Greg help me move one of the wing backed chairs and the ottoman to our bedroom so that he could sleep sitting up last night. Makes me wish we had a couple recliners. We'll take it easy today.

Bionic Belly!
Scott has a new and improved belly thanks to Dr. Anotoneti and Lexington Medical Center. He had a bit of a time coming around and has had more pain than he anticipated but is home and recovering. He seems to be doing better after having a nap in his chair in the den. Now to keep him from over doing it the next two weeks. I'll be home with him until Saturday then I will just run home to check on him during my lunch breaks. They had to make 8 incisions instead of 5 to 6 so that would explain the added pain. He has a prescription for Oxcycodone so is handling the pain a bit better than he was during his reawakening.
I ate lunch in the new cafeteria at the hospital and it was very good. I had a club sandwich; a cafe mocha and a cookie - my favorite.... white chocolate macadama nut! When I got back up from eating he was about ready to go. Took some doing but the nurse and I got him in the car and I got him in the house and comfortable.

*Aug 27 the whole world is waiting for.............*
Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August.
It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth.
Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Sickness
I KNEW I was going to get sick from coming in and out of that cold office and onto the HOT sales floor. My head is killing me. I took a decongestant that we had on hand from past sample bags from our Dr. Hopefully that will help me get through the next 4 days so that I can get to work. I'll be home next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to care for Scott while he is going through and recovering from his surgery. He'll be home for longer than that but that is all I can take off at the moment. I just hope and pray for no complications.
After Scott was done at the hospital this morning he had to go to our regular Dr as he has the start of a sinus infection so he is on an antibiotic to knock it out. We went to the new Walgreens to get his prescription filled and we bought a bunch of snacky JUNK!
I better get to bed as tomorrow is looking like a LONG day!

Pre-Op Blood work
Scott has to go over to the hospital for the pre-surgery blood work this morning at 9 and I'm "off" so will be going with him. Once that is done and he has gone into work I will do up schedules and planners and drop them off at the store. It's just too cold in my office to go in and do them and I'm all ready feeling sick. I think I've caught a cold from going in and out of that frig of an office. I also need to fax some things into the HR department and LP. I'm trying to get a new person ready to be a 4th key holder so that I can take more evenings off to be with Scott. LOTS of changes ahead... thats life!

August 1,2007
I've been wondering why I'm feeling so depressed the past few days; I didn't know if it was because of the lack of time at home and being away from Scott so much or Tim leaving as I have grown to respect him as a person and looked forward to his encouragement. And then tonight it dawned on me... my BABY will turn 21 in 20 days. No more little boy looking for a hug; no costumes to make for Halloween, and no "little extra's" to be made for classmates. I know it's been a long time since any of that actually happened but the thought of him being 21 is really affecting me soul deep. I spent 18 years of my life home with him and now we rarely see him and life has changed so much. So many changes all at once has really thrown me a curve. I will prevail but not knowing what tomorrow may bring is a bit unnerving. Scott has his surgery next week and I am more worried than I thought that I would be. My two fella's mean the world to me and I can't imagine a day without either in my life.
Tim's leaving was unexpected but it is what he needs to do for himself as well as his family and I wish him well. The uncertainty of who will come after is a bit scary but I will do my best for whomever that is as well. And if things don't go well I guess I can always find something else. I would really miss the gals I work with immensely. But I won't cross that bridge just yet.
