A Sunday Walk and an Art Project

A sign of Spring? This fella was SO busy on these dandelions; it was nearly impossible to get any pictures so I feel fortunate in getting this one.

With all the rain we have been getting the river is up and extremely muddy. You can barely see where the damn remains are beyond the lockes entrance.

The rain had also washed more of the dirt away from around this LARGE metal vessel. It's behind the fence and we are intrigued... wish I could  find something like this on our land. I'd turn it into a fire pit. It has amazing feet on it - perhaps on the next walk I will try to get a close up of one of the feet.

And this is so sad - why do people liter? All this amazing beauty and you look down and see this. There are trash cans along the walk - why can't they wait until they get to one and throw their trash into it instead of into the waterways.
Here is a current project that I just completed today.
 Mixed Media Collage.

I had a lot of fun creating this canvas and plan to do more in the future. I have also completed another page in my Art Journal. This was just a fun page to practice using my colored pencils that Scott got me for Christmas.
Drawn with Prismacolor pencils.Sticker letters, crayons and markers were also used on this page.

  2. For me dandelions and butterflies would totally spell spring!

You draw very well! I knew you were crafty in other areas, but I did not know this! That collage is amazing.

  3. Oh, and yeah, what IS up with the trashing tossing in the rivers! Seriously! It is so bothersome and ugly.

  4. Love your art work Becky! Great photos! Frustrates me litter especially at school. People seem ignorant of how their laziness affects the environment and how it makes everything look.

  5. There has been a LOT of rain by the look of the river! Litter is such a problem here too...really unnecessary though isn't it? Love your art work collage; very effective!
