Paper Projects and Tesla Chillin'

I wanted to post a couple photos of some paper crafting projects. First is a large tag that I altered and will send to someone that needs encouragement one day. I made this in  response to a challenge on You Tube. The tag contains this quote by Buddha....

"You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection"

So True!

My next project is to alter this...
The box is a nice heavy card stock and I hated to just through it away and a challenge was made on a crafting page on Facebook that I belong to so I decided to utilize this box. So far I've started painting the entire thing with Gesso; I am currently waiting for that to dry. I will post more pictures as I go along in case others would like to alter a box too good to through away as well.

And what could a relaxing Sunday post be without a bit of "cat hammage"

Sunday Morning - EARLY

I'm up... been up since 3:15 AM (regular weekly wake-up time) and it's Sunday... a day I can sleep in. I had a nightmare that woke me in a panic. And it's a Nightmare that could be coming true at the beginning of the year. There may be a big Management switch around at work that would leave me working for someone I don't respect and can barely tolerate. She just gets straight under my skin and drives me crazy as she is a nit picking micro-manager that won't do half of what is expected of her but gets deep praise... drives me nuts. I'm the type of person you hand a stack and say this has to be done today and then leave me alone to do it... she won't. So as much as I love where I work and the job I do I may be brushing up my resume in the new year. Something closer to home would be nice too. But I will wait until New Year's to make any decisions or changes - just venting off some steam here.

The Sunday paper was just delivered and Scott and Greg are still very much asleep. And I'm trying to find quiet things to do so as not to disturb their slumber.

I believe I will try for a few more Z's here in just a little bit.

I've had a few more Z's... and thought I would pop back into this post to clarify a few things. I have reached a point in my life where I will NOT put up with being badgered daily and that is why I say I'd rather find another position than to work for this person. Life is WAY TOO short for that much tension and stress... I just don't need it. Hard A _ _es will say I should just muck up and deal with it but that's not how I want to go through life... dealing with other peoples narcissistic behaviors. Why do people just except things that are harmful to their health and spiritual well being in exchange for money anyway?

More of our walk...

I took so many pictures and want to share them all but I don't want to have posts that are too picture heavy and that is why I'm splitting this day up between several posts.

The trees are HUGE along this section of the river where the hand of man has not been in years. If these trees could talk I'm sure they would have Civil War stories to tell. Such grand hard woods! There were HUGE grape vines and the moss was growing everywhere. When we have more time to explore I'm sure there will be more beauty to share here. As it was we barely got back to our car before the sky let loose.

SO... with it raining and us not able to stay in the woods longer we decided to make a trip to the Old Mill Antique Mall just for something fun to do indoors... I think everyone had the same idea as the parking lot was packed when we got there  and when we left. When we pulled into the lot Scott had to grab the camera from me to get a few pictures of this nice Chevelle.
We don't have a lot of "spending" money but we did come across a couple things that came home with us. Scott found this delightful little wooden cigar box for $12... and it was 66% off that. So for $4.60 he got a bit of treasure...
He is planning to turn it into a small one tube radio.

I found 3 cook books that were 20% off their marked price. Altogether we only spent $10.67... woo hoo Big Spenders! Great day of fun... now while the rain has stopped I'm going out to the garden to pick some veggies.

Saturday Fun And Adventure

Today started with me cooking up some onion and cheese omelets with bacon, toast and sliced tomatoes. Then we decided to check out the new walkway that was recently put in by the boat ramp before the rain arrived.
They just removed the "No trespassing" signs about a week ago and we have been itching to check it out... we were NOT disappointed!

The walk way was just recently poured and it's still ruff and "Natural" just the way we enjoy it. We saw some amazing things along the way but the most special was the clearing near the power lines as we walked down into the woods as a bunch of dragon flies and butterflies came to greet us and were flying all around us. Butterflies were actually landing on my shirt.. it was amazing.

And a walk with me means.... FUNGI SPOTTING!

More to come....

Our Furry Child is Feeling Better

Tesla is nearly back to his old self and being cute every chance he gets to get as much additional attention as he can.

Just look at that cute little face and adorable Buddha Belly! ROTTEN!
Scott is off attending a Linux users group and I have been working on the laundry heap... YIKE! In between loads I have been working on a paper crafting project. It's not turning out as I wished it to but it' a first attempt. Perhaps I will share it tomorrow as I am having to wait on some glitter glue and Glossy Accents to dry... they give a whole new meaning on waiting for paint to dry as they take LONGER!

Sometimes...

When I write or talk about what we are going through and our struggles to just get to the next paycheck it is NOT for help or sympathy; it's just me desperately needing to let some steam off the pot.

Scott and I are hardy and will do all we can for ourselves. I understand when people want to help or give advice but that is not what we are after at all. It's just lately we've had a good thorough soaking in the bills down pour with more ahead... but we WILL get by just fine as we have each other.

July 2024.... really?

Here it is another year since I have written on this blog. Since I found You Tube and started doing videos over there this blog has become ...
