Today's Letter "W"

I have completed the altered letter for my friend Wendy.
It looks a LOT different than it did a few posts back; doesn't it?

Project Completions

Yesterday I finally got a few projects completed. First was an altered tag. The theme was Victorian Winter Ball and I thoroughly enjoyed making this project. I think it turned out pretty nice.

The second project was a selection of stick pins for a swap that I am in with an online friend. I need more bead caps and spacers. I have loads of beads but am always running out of those two findings. I finally found the really long pins at Jo-Anns in there wedding section.

I also made progress on the altered "W" for my friend on You Tube. I will post some photos of the "W" when it is completed. It looks a LOT different from the previous photo that I posted. Wendy is also the one that offered up the challenge for the tag above and I will be sending that to her as well. I am also making her one of my never ending cards as well. I need to get that all completed as her birthday is near the end of this month and I want to get them mailed to her before then.

Well it is time for me to get on the road. It's nice getting more time at home in the mornings - I've been up since 2:30.

Congrats to our President!

Another Week

I made it through another Monday... and an early one to boot. I was asked to come in at 3 this morning and tomorrow is the same. Only good thing about it tomorrow is I can vote EARLY and be done with it. Hopefully I will miss the long lines.

After I got home from work today I got the laundry started and cleaned both bathrooms. Then I swept and damp mopped our bedroom and the hallway. Ate lunch and then took an hour long nap. And after that I cooked a quick pork chop supper and only have to fold clothes and clean-up the kitchen before I can go to bed. YEAH! Not much left to do.

The sunrise yesterday was so beautiful with the fall colors on the trees. It turned a deeper pink after I came back inside the house... of course. This picture is still pretty. After we ate breakfast we decided to go on one of our "weird adventures". We decided to drive up a nearby street and park out of the way of traffic and walk back a ways to take some photo's of an area we drive by nearly every day. Scott took all the photos in this spot.

The first two are of the same tree just at a different setting. I love how he captured some of the Fall colors on the leaves in the right of the photo. It's really a shame there is so much trash in this water way. There were actually small fish in this area we could see them from the bridge rail.

People were staring at us and I'm sure they were saying to themselves or the people with them, "What are THOSE TWO doing?" And the answer... HAVING FUN TOGETHER. This is just the silly stuff we do together... doesn't cost us a penny to enter and only pennies in gas to get there.

This is my favorite photo that Scott took.
After we got back to the car we decided to go for our Sunday walk along the river where I took over with the camera for the most part.

Did not go as planned but still fun

Yesterday morning I had grand plans of completing a bunch of crafty projects but the day was just too beautiful. Scott and I decided to take off for a small festival in the upper part of the State at Oak Grove Plantation. It was a small event but we enjoyed the outing. Here are a few pictures I took while we were there.

Gorgeous Weekend

The weather has been beautiful here for these 4 days I've taken off from work. Yesterday I went off with my friend Gypsye and we pawed our way through the bins at the Goodwill Clearance center and then we went to True BBQ for some awesome pork BBQ sandwiches.

(Paula and Evy are friends I've made through You Tube)

It was a wonderful day! I also stopped at JoAnn's and bought 1/3 yard of this brocade...
I'm going to make a make-up bag for my winner (Amelia) out of this fabric.

After such a wonderful day with my friend Scott and I discovered this gorgeous bloom in the back yard. My roses don't do well here so I am always thrilled to find one thats really showing out like this.

Needless to say goofing off outside the home didn't leave me as much crafting time at home but I will be completing some projects today.

PLAY DAY!

Today is a "play day" for me. I have several projects started that I want to complete today.
A small bag all cut out and ready to be sewn together

Just need beads from my stash to complete some stick pins for a swap.

An altered tag for a challenge contest.

I've made some changes to the "W" and need to add more to this now.
I also have some quilt squares and strips to make for a couple swaps and some cards to make as well. And I will be squeezing lunch in with a friend. Just a day of fun stuff!

WOO HOO... And the winner is...

I put my witches hat up so the cats wouldn't pull the feathers off and now I can't find it so I used this little bag instead.
I had 6 entries - took my comment and a duplicate comment out and at BLD's request I removed her comment as well so that left 6 entries into the give-a-way.
I shook them around a good bit and reached in and  pulled one out... and the winner is.....
AMELIA!!!! In South Africa!!!! I'll make some fun things and will send them out week after next when I get paid again.

July 2024.... really?

Here it is another year since I have written on this blog. Since I found You Tube and started doing videos over there this blog has become ...
