Rainy Weather

It's been dreary and rainy since we came home from the radio meet on  Saturday. Yesterday I worked 6 hours at the store; setting a new sale and stocking stickers and scrapbook paper. I came home and made Lemon Pepper Chicken; baked beans and fried okra. That was about all - nothing special.

Last night I pulled fabric from my stash to pull together my border on a Round Robin thats waiting for my addition so that it can be shipped home to it's owner. It is a Fall themed quilts so I pulled mostly oranges and browns all my yellows were just too bright for this quilt. I always pull fabrics and then "sleep on it"; the next day I go back in and switch things around a little and perhaps add a bit more. I'm thinking about using one of the greens as a narrow border and then do a piano keys border after that... still "thinking".

Today I ran a few errands and stopped at the library and checked out a few more books. Trying to borrow books more often from the library and avoid spending money when ever possible. One book is titled "Not Buying it - My year without shopping", by: Judith Levine. I'm looking forward to reading this one first.

Scott has yet to post about the AWA Meet so I guess I'll show a few more radios as they truly are beautiful - NO PLASTIC!

Project for Love

I've decided to make the quilt featured on the cover of the Sept./Oct. issue of McCalls Quilting for my nephew and his new bride. I will be doing it in Batiks instead of prints. I've got nearly all the strips cut - just need another 28 of the 1 1/2" strips and then I can get started sewing. I may cut more strips so that I can make it one block longer - we'll see. For now I am cutting what the pattern calls for. I've all ready cut way more 2 1/2" squares and 2 1/2"x 4 1/2" rectangles than I need for the binding so cutting a few more strips for blocks shouldn't be a problem at all. The Batiks were all in my stash waiting for the perfect project so I'm using something else up... which will make Scott happy. He laughs every time he comes in my sewing room when I'm working in there - says it smells like Jo-Ann Fabrics - can't imagine why!
HA HA!

July 2024.... really?

Here it is another year since I have written on this blog. Since I found You Tube and started doing videos over there this blog has become ...
