Special Pictures

My Mom has been going through her picture's trying to find some of me as a baby as all the ones My Grandma had seem to have disappeared. These are very special picture's that represent the time my Mom lived away from me in the years I remained with my grandma...
My Mom and I just days before she left for school.
My cousin Heather and I the month we were born.
And 6 months later - Heather on the left and me on the right.
I'll share more later as the mood strikes. I will get copies made to make a scrapbook with these lovely photo's that I'm ever so happy to have.

Reminiscing

I was reading a blog the other day and she was writing about her memories of places from her past so I thought I would go through some old photos and see what I could come up with for a post of my own. I don't have but one or two of me as a baby and only a few of my early childhood; the rest were left with my Grandmother when I moved South and now it appears they are lost. But here goes.....
1968-1969 Me on the Farm in New York with Katy as a puppy.

Me in my Grandma's "wash tub" - she would put water in it to let me play.

Me - Huge pony tails and belly hanging out in front of Grandma's Dahlias.

Me with Katy again on the lower side of the farm house where I started my life.

Me and Katy again with the "garage" in the back ground. The building behind the garage is the old "carriage" shed where we stored straw for bedding in the loft and equipment below.

"Flower Room" on the front of the Farm House. I had my "doll hospital" in there where I would take my sick dolls and care for them.

1978 - A little snow! Something I rarely see here in the South.

1978 more snow.
I don't know the dates on most of these pictures as it wasn't written on the backs but I'm pretty sure they were all in the 1970's.

My Dolly has a new diaper...

I drew the pattern up myself and then looked through my sewing patterns for clothes for her. I have all the pieces cut out so tomorrow I will make her something to wear. Today is house cleaning and laundry; I'm about halfway done - keep getting sidetracked with the Internet.

I cleaned her up with baking soda and warm water as that is the instructions I found on the Interenet for cleaning vinyl dolls. Scott fixed her eye so she doesn't look like "Chucky" anymore... THANK GOODNESS! I'm thinking a pretty pink dress with small flowers would suit her just fine.

Perhaps I can find a basket for her to sleep in at the store on Wednesday. Crazy... a nearly 47 year old woman playing with dolls but I believe she deserves the attention.

OH! I must share that the black spot on the bottom of her left foot is where I used to give her shots with sewing needles.

July 2024.... really?

Here it is another year since I have written on this blog. Since I found You Tube and started doing videos over there this blog has become ...
