Rain and more rain...
It is quite depressing the amount of rain we have been getting. I need sunshine! I'm truly hoping that it clears off and is sunny for our little trip later this month. We've barely been able to get the lawn mowed between storms and I am sure that I will never conquer that wisteria vine on the fence... oh my it is out of control back there and the trees that the power company came through and cut back are nearly back up to the cable line between the fences. What a nightmare! The cooler weather is nice though so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Sunday I did a deep clean on our bedroom; I pulled all the furniture out from the walls and wiped everything down with some Murphy's Oil soap and went over the entire floor with it as well. It is so nice to have a super clean bedroom once more. I didn't go through the closet so that will be a project for another day. That is something I have to wait until Scott is available to go through his side of the closet as we both need to go through our clothes and get rid of things that no longer fit or we don't care for anymore.
I've been crafting more this week since we are pretty much stuck indoors because of the rain. I've made these flowers out of fabric and lace and buttons. They turned out so lovely and will make GREAT decorations for cards and altered items. I'm being encouraged by family and friends to open a shop on Etsy or Zibbet to sell my handmade items.
I've begun putting the Summer cards together for the swap that I am in with a local crafting group that I joined last month. We are meeting Saturday at a local library and will exchange cards then. I messed the first one up (the one laying down in the photo). The rest will look like the one standing up in the frame. I hope the gals in the swap will enjoy them. Sorry about the glare but it is 4 AM and I had to use the flash to get this photo.
Work is work... it has not been very enjoyable as of late but it is a job and we need the money. The atmosphere is not the same since changes were made and the level of camaraderie isn't there anymore... kinda feels like a grind... but it is work. Speaking of which it's time for me to get ready. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.

Catching up!
I'm feeling like a drowned rat! So ready for a bit of sunshine! The only really good thing about it we haven't had the extreme heat! SO there IS a bright center in every cloud.
BUT with all this rain our beloved River-walk is flooded out. ON the 7th we attempted a walk but did not get very far at all.
Since then we haven't gone near it as it is pretty much all under water now. So the other night we decided to walk out on the SCANA walk-way. It's flooded out there as well as with the river flooded it has pushed back up into the creeks as well. We took a TON of fungus photos! So many different types and gorgeous colors.

Most Recent Project
I needed a box for the little tag mini-album that I recently made and decided the only way I would find one just the right size would be to create it myself. So I took heavy chipboiard and went right to work.
I used strips of kraft colored card stock to reinforce all the edges and corners - inside and out so this box is extremely sturdy.
Then I started covering it with papers; inside and out.
Once I had all the papers applied I decorated it with lace, trim, bead fringe and some flat backed pearl trim. Then I made a card to match the box that was really easy to make and turned out quite lovely. Here are my end results along with the album it was created for; these will be sent to an on-line friend to brighten her day. I hope she will like it.

Diet Changes
Just wanted to pop in real quick before I have to leave for work this morning. A little over a month ago Scott and I decided to take our health back and have been changing our diet and monitoring our sugar levels twice a day. With these changes we are both seeing weight loss as an added bonus. Yesterday a co-worker noticed and said 'Boy Becky you are getting skinny"... ME SKINNY! I haven't heard those words in years! I still have about 40 pounds to be at a decent healthy weight but I'm below 200 pounds for the first time in years and I am thrilled beyond measure.
Something I really need to focus on is increasing my water intake for better hydration. I get so dehydrated at work that my mouth becomes severly dry so I need to start carrying some water with me at all times. I have a metal water bottle but I don't like the taste of the water from it so I need to try to find an Earth friendly alternative thats easy to use and carry around with me at work.
Another thing I would like to improve on is some muscle toning exercise to make sure I don't end up with a lot of flabby loose skin. My goal is to loose 50 total pounds before my 50th birthday in March.
The other night we went to Hardee's for a meal. We both got the Bourbon burger and medium fries... HUGE Mistake!!!! My sugar shot up to 255! WOW! Luckily my sugar returned to the 120's by the following morning but never again will I make the mistake of ordering without knowing the Nutritional info. I'm going to go to each local fast food restaurants web site and print off their Nutritional Information and keep it in a notebook in my car for us to refer to before ordering from now on! I will go through each one and highly "SAFE" meals.
Well time to get dressed and out the door!

Just a few items I've made
Trying to use up all of one paper line. I still have some small pieces and some tags to use up. I will make some more 3"x3" cards and an Art Journal page entry with the smallest scraps.
