MY Friday - YOUR Thursday!

I found out today that my hours were cut for tomorrow as they are a wee bit over in pay roll... I'M THRILLED! I get an unplanned 3 day weekend which means tomorrow will be ALL MINE! Lots of fun stuff in my mind to do.

Saturday morning I believe Scott and I will be going blackberry picking on the roadside not far from our house as we saw the other day quite a few nice blackberries as we drove by. I'm looking forward to making some blackberry jam again. There really is nothing like homemade jam on a slice of bread fresh out of the oven - perhaps some oatmeal bread will be on the schedule as well.

My brother-in-law, Steve and his wife, Jane are getting their Blue Ridge Log Cabin delivered this weekend... in one month they will be moving in. I'm so excited for them and watching for photos on Facebook as Jane posts them.....So EXCITING!

My mail last week brought some fun items. I had sent some garlic to BLD and in return she drew us this amazing rendition of garlic..... by her own hand and we simply LOVE it! She was so cute... called us the "Queen and King of Garlic" as we always have an amazing crop of garlic with enough to share. I'm planning to send her more soon.

Then for participating in an online crafting challenge the host sent me these adorable hearts and mini clothes pins... I'm thinking I will have to make something in the line of a "love notes" line to hang somewhere. THANKS CONSTANCE!

So far this week I've gotten one goodie pacakge in my mailbox and even a single one makes the junk and the bills oh so much easier to handle. This week I received an absoluetly beautiful needle case from an online quilting friend. As well as 5 "Nickel's" - 5 - inch squares.



We've been having a lot of rain lately and the clouds can get to looking quite angry; here are some from the storm that moved through this area last Friday.

It was really quite unnerving at times as we didn't know whether to expect a tornado or not. They just looked so intense.
