Restless...

This week has been a restless one for me. I can't seem to stay focused or concentrate on ANYTHING too much or too deeply. I haven't been getting enough sleep for one thing as Monday evening I got between a jealous cat and an adorable dog and paid the cost. Tesla lit into me like there was no tomorrow. From now on anytime a dog is anywhere in the house Tesla will be put in solitary confinement in our bedroom. This is the back of my right leg...

Perhaps tonight I will be able to sleep as it's not hurting as much tonight. I'm very thankful that I heal quickly. I will get Scott to help me bandage them again tonight with more triple-antibiotic.

 I snuck and took this picture so it's a little fuzzy but I had to share how helpful Scott has been while I'm recovering from the BEASTY BOY! I've still been cooking but he takes care of the clean-up; which is AWESOME in my book.


He has also been doing the laundry which I GREATLY appreciate. 




Meanwhile I have projects just taunting me from my sewing room. I have fleece to make some wild stuffed animals. Scraps waiting to be made into more potholders. I still need to make myself some sun-dresses and shorts. OH I also have a little boy that needs something made for his birthday. Better get that done this weekend. My mind is just spinning with ideas and plans.

 Scott has been putting in applications and filling in stuff for his unemployment to continue; I'm sure he is feeling like he is permanently attached to the computer.


Friday evening a friend has offered to share her green bean harvest with us and we will be going to her farm to pick some. I will take her a surprise in return.

I better get some rest as tomorrow is freight shoving day and it's our first big replenishment truck since Inventory was completed - lots and lots of little things to get put on pegs and shelves.

On My Mind... Projects Waiting Completion

I have had this skirt cut out for WEEKS and now it sits waiting for me to complete it and it's been joined by fabric for a blouse to match it... go figure... yet another project. I have got to work hard on that character flaw... too many projects waiting to be finished.  UGH! But new ones are so very hard to resist.

Slept the Afternoon away

I always feel like I've wasted so much time when I awake from a short nap that lasted 4 HOURS. But I am feeling a bit better than I was when I got up at 4:30 this morning. I just put a Shepherds pie in the oven for dinner tonight. Greg will LOVE that as it's one of his absolute favorites. My hours were cut at work due to lack of sales but thats OK as it's giving me time to recover from what ever I am battling at the moment. I'm still enjoying the job very much and learning about the products they carry - so many WONDERFUL things and their sale prices are really good. Hopefully business will pick up for them after Thanksgiving. In the mean time I will work on projects here. 

The leaves have FINALLY gotten pretty just in time for the winds to arrive and knock them from the trees. I just went out front and took some pictures of what I see from my computer chair.

My little helper has been very vigilant the last couple days. He won't hardly let me out of his sight. And he pines so when the fellas leave for work; he really thinks he is a baby and not a cat.

SO - what did I accomplish?

So while I was away from the computer what did I do? Not nearly as much sewing as I'd thought but I did get a daily walk in with Amelia (dog) which thrilled her to pieces. And we will do it again today and this time we will have Scott with us as he doesn't have any work for the rest of this week.

I've enjoyed lighting a candle in the kitchen in the evenings - a nice "Fall"-ish scent.

I did sew some and pre-washed some flannel for some PJ's for Greg. I don't take chances with cotton's; I don't want to put in a lot of work and they have them shrink like crazy and not fit him when I give them to him. He is a PJ bottom wearer - not FULL PJ's. I think most young men go for the bottoms only. I am thinking about making him a robe for this winter since we will be keeping the thermostat low to save money - we will just have to layer up. When I was going through my patterns for PJ bottoms I went ahead and pulled ALL PJ related patterns. I had no idea that I had this many and this was only the adult patterns and not even all of them. CRINGE! OH well at 99 cents and $1.99 it's not like I spent a complete fortune on them and I can use them over and over with care.I plan to make myself some sleeveless nightgowns. I just don't like sleeves on them as they always seem to twist on my arms and cut of circulation so I wake up to a "dead arm" usually hanging over my head and face and freaking me out.














OK! So now to what I did get made. I finished Tesla's quilt so now he has something to lay on in the sewing room while I am working so that he will stay off my current project - I hope. And I made Abby a dress (This is part of her Christmas present). It was super easy and turned out really cute. It's made of corduroy and in such a super fun print.
