Last Nights Walk

Scott and I took a walk along the river last night and there was a free concert going on but we did not stay to listen. The instruments were awesome... the vocals... well sometimes people should "juts play" the instrument they are holding.

Turtle Head rock in the Congaree River - we climb out and sat on his head.

A mysterious glove on the back side of the head - we saw it as we looked down at the rushing water.
OOPS! Forgot I had zoomed to get the photo of the glove.
Our feet - many miles have been walked in these shoes.
Finally a decent photo of the two of us.

YEAH! It's Saturday AND a CRAFTING DAY!

Today I will be attending a crafting session with the local crafting group that I have joined. AND I will be leading a demo on Never-ending cards! SO looking forward to that and have made two samples. The first one I created is a Halloween card with plenty of places left open to hold photos.

And my second card is a card for a friend...

These are a lot of fun to make and can be made in any size just by doing a little Math. It will be so much fun to see what all my Crafty Friends come up with today. I'll try to take some photos to share.

Boat ramp Visitors

This happy honking couple was at the boat ramp the other night; we think they must have been dropped by someone that could no longer care for them. So sad when this happens to animals.

Cards Ready and Blooms!

I added the last bits to my cards for the swap and love how the packaging turned out. Now to find a basket that they will all fit in to carry them to the get-together.  My  little picket crate is just not going to hold them all this time.  I want to alter the crate and put my name across the front.  I'll paint it and add decorations to it and get it all fancied up to sit on the swap table. FUN FUN FUN!!!

I went out into our yard to see what I could find blooming or "showing out" and took these photos...

Scott's single sunflower bloom.... well there is one more but it's not open yet.

Busy Day

This morning I made blackberry pancakes as Scott had requested them when he saw the blackberries in the door of the freezer the other day.  Oh boy were they delicious!  And with adding the berries they were so flavorful we used very little Maple Syrup.  I wish we'd been able to pick more blackberries this year as this was the last of them.  It just rained way too much this year.

I finished up packaging my cards and ATC's (Artist Trading Cards( today; just need to add my info on some labels to the tops and they will be ready to swap. The cards toward the front are for last month since I was not able to attend; the ATC's are in the little bags to the center right and the dimensional envelopes are toward the top containing the cards that I made this past week.
I love how the dimensional envelopes turned out; I even added a strip of the patterned  paper that I used on my cards to tir them together. Here are some close ups of the envelopes during processing and completion...

Now that I have these completed and ready to go I can start working on instruction sheets and samples for the Never-Ending card that I will be Demoing next Saturday at the Card and Crafting group that I've joined.  Everyone is so excited about making one that I am a little nervous and hope I get them all going on them easily.  They really are easy to make and just look super difficult. I'll be making a couple as samples tomorrow and will share photos of the finished cards.

Today I also attended a free demo session at a local store called The Stamping Place . It was wonderful and I learned about several products that I will be adding to my Christmas wish list. Panpastels for one as the color is absolutely amazing! And Wink of Stella  pens and Radiant Rain sprays! So much fun stuff! Links are to sites to purchase/ or more info on the products. But they are all available at The Stamping Place if you are local and want to help support a Local Business.

An Evening Walk

I received a lovely package of goodies from South Africa yesterday from a dear You Tube friend - Amelia Ireton. She had sent me some crafty goodies as well as some candies and a chocolate star. I ate the chocolate and then decided we needed to go walk it off before I checked my sugar level. I grabbed the camera "just in case" and caught some pictures of the moon.

Towards the end of our walk
A few days ago I took a video of some butterflies on the Lantana out front by the lamp post and a few pictures as well.

Greg's girlfriend, Robin is visiting this weekend and Scott and I don't really have anything special planned for the day or the weekend. There are some chores that need to be tackled though - a repair to the fence out back and that wisteria is still awaiting a thorough wacky back. Whatever you do this weekend make some time for fun!

Friday... woooo hooo the 13th!

I hated that movie... Friday the 13th. Gave me horrendous nightmares. I've never been one for scary movies as my mind takes the story line and continues working it for days...  sometimes weeks afterwards adding more to where the movie ended and completely creeping me out.  Scott isn't much for going to see movies  so if I do go to see something it is usually with our son, Greg. I haven't been in ages not even sure if anything thats out would be of interest as it's all been done before. Maybe I've reached an age where I've just seen the same story line too many times all ready. I so enjoy when the two of us go off on a back roads adventure to explore our State... sometimes farther. It's been awhile since we took that trip to the Mountains - AH I must have wander lust. It'll be awhile before we can do anything like that again as the replacement of the water heater really set us back this month. Ah well more trips will be in our future.

Greg's gal is coming to stay for the weekend and it will be nice to see her again. They seem to have a lot of fun together and she loves to explore the area so we probably won't see much of them. Greg has requested Enchilada's for dinner tonight. When I get off work this morning I will go through and speed clean the house. I did laundry yesterday but still have a little left to finish today. And I've got to get the dinning room table cleared off from where I've been crafting. So it will definitely be a speed clean.

October 5, 2008

October 5, 2008 - Bill Well's has past away so this is a wonderful photo to remember him.
Once again the Bluegrass Festival will be on October 5th and we are planning to attend. I need to buy some canned goods for the Food Bank as that is the requested cost of admission.

July 2024.... really?

Here it is another year since I have written on this blog. Since I found You Tube and started doing videos over there this blog has become ...
